Iloilo City Government to open one more free dialysis center for city residents

The Iloilo City Government intends to establish another dialysis center in Brgy. San Isidro, Jaro that will provide free services to city residents suffering from chronic renal disease as well as costly clinic or hospital bills.

Mayor Jerry Treñas together with his trusted personnel who have a part in the projects recently conducted a site inspection at the Uswag Dialysis Center. This is done to evaluate the current status of development.

“Padayon ang serbisyo para sa kaayuhan sang mga Ilonggo! Ginpatukod naton ang Dialysis Center sa San Isidro para makahatag libre nga operasyon sa aton mga kasimanwa. We inspected the area to see that we are on track with the developments so we create a level up health service for the Ilonggos,” Mayor Jerry Treñas said.

“The centerpiece of our administration is public health that is why I made sure the dialysis center project will be realized. This is free dialysis treatment for Ilonggos who need them, and will defray them of at least P4,000 fee per dialysis session,” he added.

In order to accommodate additional patients, the San Isidro dialysis center will feature 14 units. The site's existing health center has been converted into a dialysis center.

Target opening is third quarter of this year, said Treñas.

The city has already inaugurated the Uswag Iloilo Dialysis Center in East Baluarte, Molo, in December of last year, with three units.

Those who have access to hemodialysis treatment include bonafide residents of Iloilo City, indigents, and active members of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
