Mochi Design Lab Rolls Out Program to Accelerate Business Innovation for SMEs

The Mochi Design Lab has officially rolled out its groundbreaking program aimed at enhancing business operations for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Philippines. The launch event, which featured a comprehensive orientation, marks the beginning of an exciting journey for Filipino entrepreneurs seeking to improve their processes and overcome operational challenges.

Bridging Financial Gaps and Streamlining Business Workflows

During the event, Guaya Melgar, Co-Founder of Mochi, shared the company’s mission to address the financial roadblocks faced by SMEs. Melgar outlined the various struggles businesses encounter in securing funding and presented Mochi’s solution: an advanced platform offering streamlined billing and collections systems to help ease the burden.

Chelsea Catipon, Mochi’s Product Manager, introduced the Mochi Design Lab—a platform designed to collaborate with business owners and tailor solutions based on real-world feedback. By conducting surveys, the team identified pain points like billing complications and payment verification issues, and the Design Lab aims to solve these through its interactive platform.

Collaborative Tools and Future Growth

Catipon further elaborated on the different tools and features of the Design Lab, which include surveys, discussions, polls, and usability tests. Business owners will have access to a dynamic platform, including a dedicated Facebook group, chat support, and regular meetings for seamless collaboration. Mochi’s Product Marketing Manager, Mikee Canaman, highlighted the benefits of joining the Lab, which include more efficient billing systems, hands-on support, special rates, and added promotional opportunities for participating businesses.

One of the key announcements was the integration of Mochi’s platform with popular payment gateways like PayMongo. This collaboration will allow businesses to accept payments via multiple methods such as credit cards, e-wallets, and bank transfers. PayMongo’s Senior Growth Executive, Alliah Tan, expressed excitement about this partnership, emphasizing the importance of improving the online payment experience for merchants across the country.

Future Plans: Expanding Features and Engagement

Looking toward the future, Guaya Melgar and Chelsea Catipon shared exciting updates about ongoing product enhancements. The team is actively working on expanding payment options, including support for foreign currencies and international credit cards—features that Filipino entrepreneurs, especially those catering to global clients, are eager to see. The event also encouraged participants to share feedback and contribute ideas to ensure the platform continues to evolve based on their needs.

Open Invitation to SMEs

The Mochi Design Lab is extending an invitation to other business owners to join its upcoming cohorts and become part of this collaborative initiative. With a focus on refining business solutions, the program provides an opportunity to connect with industry experts, gain insights, and optimize business workflows.
