This New Diabetic and Metabolic Center in Iloilo Is a Major Win for Panay’s Healthcare Scene

If you or someone you love is living with diabetes or metabolic conditions, there’s a new reason to celebrate. Metro Iloilo Hospital & Medical Center, Inc. just opened the Panay Comprehensive Diabetic and Metabolic Center (PCDMC) last July 14, 2025—and it's the first of its kind in the region.

Tucked on the 3rd floor of the hospital’s main building, PCDMC is more than just a clinic—it’s a full-blown, all-in-one center designed to help you manage your health with compassion, innovation, and the best medical minds in the biz.

So, what can you expect from PCDMC? A whole lot, actually:
✔️ Multidisciplinary clinical care (read: a full team watching your back)
✔️ One-on-one counseling and patient education
✔️ On-site diagnostics and lab work
✔️ Nutrition and lifestyle coaching
✔️ Cutting-edge research and clinical trials
✔️ Telemedicine services and community outreach

The center is headed by Dr. Francis Pasaporte, an internal medicine and diabetology expert, and is backed by a dream team of specialists in endocrinology, ophthalmology, and diabetes education. Their shared mission? Making diabetes care more accessible, proactive, and human-centered for Western Visayas.

The opening event pulled in a crowd of medical experts and VIPs including Dr. Antonio Juan Loa, Dr. Mary Ann Paranpan, Dr. Evelyn Socorro Lozada, and many more—plus nurse educator Christell Sobredo, and ophthalmologists like Dr. Marissa Tubola and Dr. Jewel Flores-Anotado.

Hospital leadership was also in full force with Dr. Roland Uy (President & CEO), Dr. Grace Ariete-Albaña (Administrator), and Dr. Roberto Lozada (Medical Director) all showing their support. Not to mention, Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas (represented by Councilor Miguel Treñas) sent a special shoutout to the hospital for leveling up the city’s healthcare offerings.

At its core, the PCDMC is all about integrated, holistic care—not just treating the disease, but helping patients navigate every step of their journey, from diagnosis to long-term wellness.

Long story short: this is a big deal. Whether you’re managing diabetes or supporting someone who is, the future of healthcare in Panay just got a lot brighter.

💙 Because here, it's not just about care. It's about care that cares.
