The distribution of emergency subsidy assistance under the social amelioration program (SAP) in Western Visayas is now 92.06 percent complete as of 12 noon of Friday, May 15, according to the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office VI.
Macapobre said a total of 1,062,199 family beneficiaries in the region have already received their P6,000 SAP assistance. The agency have paid out a total amount of P6,373,194,000 through the 133 local government units here.
"We are getting closer to the end of our first tranche of SAP," said Macapobre. Meanwhile, of the 133, 85 LGUs have already completed their SAP payout. These include 10 towns in Aklan; Antique, 16; Capiz, 16; Guimaras, 5; Iloilo, 20; and Negros Occidental, 18.
Of the 79 LGUs, 41 have already submitted a complete liquidation report to the regional office. Meanwhile, there are still 48 LGUs in WV with ongoing payouts.
These include 24 towns in Iloilo including Iloilo City; 14 LGUs in Negros Occidental including Bacolod City; 7 in Aklan; and 2 in Caluya. In Capiz, only Roxas City still has an ongoing payout.
The agency also mentioned that 7,322 Pantawid beneficiaries without cash card have already received their SAP assistance during its virtual presser on May 14. Each beneficiary receive P4,650 SAP assistance in addition to their P600 rice subsidy and P750 for health. Likewise, the agency reminded those LGUs with ongoing payout to observe safety protocols
