A Luxurious Staycation in the Heart of the City

With the borders closed and quarantine restrictions in place, taking a vacation already seems so far-fetched.  Luckily, with Airbnb, we don’t have to look any further than our smartphones to book the perfect staycation. 

May it be spending the night in a cozy suburban home or going on a weekend getaway while staying in a luxurious unit overlooking the bright city, there are a plethora of listings that would cater to your staycation needs through the Airbnb app!

Last December 1-3, Airbnb gave me the amazing opportunity to spend the weekend in one of the most sophisticated condominium units in the City of Love. Let me walk you through my relaxing stay in La Fayette Park Square.

My staycation wouldn’t have been possible without Airbnb. My relaxing journey towards the perfect staycation started when I downloaded the Airbnb app. Before anything else though, what is Airbnb?

The app features listings of properties and units of different hosts from not only around the city but also from various locations. Once you have chosen your preferred property among the endless tempting listings, you’ll get to chat with the host and learn more about the space or inquire about concerns. You can also get insight through real reviews from guests who have stayed on the property.  

I used the Airbnb app to book a unit for me and three of my friends, and it was a seamless experience. Being a first-time user of the app, I really loved the user-friendly interface since I didn’t have a hard time going through the listings and finding the perfect space. The moment I saw the unit in La Fayette Park Square, I knew it would be where I’ll spend my weekend. I immediately contacted the host and booked the unit. It was smooth all throughout, I never encountered any problems.

La Fayette Park Square is located in a metropolitan area, surrounded by malls, hospitals, and business centers. The accessibility of the place makes it very convenient for people looking to take a vacation without having to give up the pleasures of the bustling city life. 

The building itself is stunning and features striking French and Spanish architecture. Walking inside made me feel a sense of grandiosity and elegance. Aside from the lavish space, La Fayette Park Square also boasts sophisticated amenities including a pool, a fitness gym, and a Jacuzzi.

Although the amenities are free to use, they should be reserved ahead of time to avoid overcrowding; this is also part of the minimum health restrictions in place because of the pandemic. 

The Space

When we entered the room, I immediately noticed how spacious and clean the unit was. We were welcomed by a friend of the host when we arrived. The host was very accommodating and exceeded our expectations since she went out of her way to provide us with the basic necessities like ice, toiletries, and coffee. It was a kind gesture and showed how much the host wanted us to feel at home. There were also house rules in place which made sure that we’ll have the best experience. 

The condo offers an open floor plan with two bedrooms, a kitchen with an oven, a refrigerator, a two-way intercom camera panel, a water heater, a 55-inch Smart TV, prepaid wireless internet, and two private balconies. The smart TV was also Netflix-ready and was really a perk during our stay. 

Being on the fifth floor, the two balconies in the unit provided us with a picturesque view of the city. For me, that was really the highlight of the condo. 

The Stay

We stayed there for three days and two nights and I can really say that it was one of the most relaxing breaks I’ve had in a long time. Aside from the beautiful photos we took thanks to the gorgeous aesthetics of the place, my friends and I also relished the moment that we had for ourselves; this staycation really allowed us to enjoy each other’s company. Staycations like these are perfect for bonding with the family, catching up with old friends, or even just taking a break from the world and spending some precious alone time.
