Iloilo City Government to open dialysis center in Jaro; free dialysis treatments to the Ilonggos

The Iloilo City Government is planning to open another dialysis center in Brgy. San Isidro, Jaro after successfully opening the Uswag Dialysis Center in Molo. These dialysis centers will offer free dialysis treatments to the city's residents who are battling both chronic kidney disease and costly clinic and hospital bills.

“The centerpiece of our administration is public health that is why I made sure the dialysis center project will be realized. This is free dialysis treatment for Ilonggos who need them, and will defray them of at least P4,000 fee per dialysis session” Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said.

Currently, the Uswag Dialysis Center in Molo has 3 stations that can cater to up to 6 patients equivalent to 2 patients per station & 4 hours per patient. The San Isidro dialysis center, on the other hand, will soon have 14 stations or dialysis machines that can cater to up to 28 patients.

“Ngaa gingpadamo ta ni ang Uswag Dialysis Center? Part ni sang aton WHEELS for Inclusive Development and sa “H” ang Health. Sigehon ta ni ang Dialysis Center ta kay nakita ta nga madamo sang mga pigado nga Ilonggo nga nagakinahanglan sang Dialysis kag kamahal gali sang gastuhon, antis nga makapasige sang Dialysis. We will try to construct more Dialysis Centers para mas damo pa gid ang maserbihan ta.” Mayor Trenas explained.

The Uswag Dialysis Center in Jaro is slated to open in the third quarter of this year.

Those who can avail of hemodialysis treatment are bonafide residents of Iloilo City, indigents, and active members of Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).
