BDO Network Bank opens branch in Camiguin Island

BDO Network Bank (BDONB), the community bank of BDO Unibank, has opened a branch in the municipality of Mambajao to serve Camiguin Island residents and business owners.

BDO said in a statement that BDONB's newest branch will provide them with financial solutions tailored to their needs, eliminating the need for them to travel long distances to do their banking activities in Cagayan de Oro.

The bank stated that during the branch's formal opening on Oct. 21, a mix of first-time bank clients and business owners opened accounts.

Mambajao Mayor Yñigo Jesus D. Romualdo stated that the presence of BDO Network Bank in the island's main economic hub is a significant boost to the island's ongoing economic development.

Mambajao is the largest of the five municipalities of Camiguin Island, and it is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations.

Camiguin Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, for one, hopes that the BDO Network Bank branch in Mambajao is just one of several branches that the bank will open on the island.

“We would like to thank BDO for coming here to Camiguin. This is a big boost for us because it validates that we are on the right track. We are looking forward to the strong engagement of BDO Network Bank with the communities here,” he said.

The newest BDO Network Bank branch is one of 55 branches that the bank plans to open across the country by the end of 2022.

Part of its mission is to reach out to farmers, fishermen, and microbusiness owners and provide them with opportunities to improve their lives and grow their businesses.
