A former teacher to Korean and Japanese students has opened a new tutorial center that focuses on the teaching strategies of cram (Juku) schools
In case you didn't know, juku or cram schools are private, specialized schools that help young Japanese students get through the tests. They typically operate after regular school hours or on weekends
IStep-Up Juku Review and Tutorial Center held its grand opening on October 1, 2022
Mary Ann Morano, founder of IStep Juku Review and Tutorial Center in an interview said "In IStep Juku, we are using universally used strategies of Japan when it comes to our classes. So rest assured, these strategies are very effective regardless of the intellectual capacity of the kids because I believe that all kids have multiple intelligences that we just need to power up or discover in them."
The name of the tutorial center means "I Study, Train, Educate, Power-up, or in short "IStep-Up".
IStep-Up Juku offers center-based, home-based, and online classes - individualized/one on one, and group classes.
Some programs included in their services are the following:
1. First Steps To Reading
2. Lesson Review and Homework Assistance
3. Modular Assistance
4. Specialized and Advanced Lessons
5. Basic Journalism
6. Creative Writing and Grammar

They also have review classes for entrance examinations. Rates start for as low as P75 per session which is composed of small group classes. You should note, however, that prices will range depending on the program or the number of classes.
