Top 5 Everyday Grubs at GrabFood

Preparing meals has always been time-consuming for most people, especially for night shift workers like me. As much as we want to cook delicious food to keep us steady for the rest of the day, we cannot do so because of exhaustion; hence, more often than not, we resort to eating out or ordering food online.

If you are someone who does not have the luxury of time to prepare your meals, head over to  GrabFood App where you will find yourself inundated with scrumptious meal options. Here are  the foods that I have tried from their Everyday Value Meals section:

1. Sisig (served with rice, egg, and iced tea) by Razon’s by Glenn
Price: P155

The first on my list is the sisig – the most common classic comfort food of Filipinos. I crave for it at least twice a week and I'm so happy that Razon's by Glenn brought Kapampangan staples to  Iloilo. I can place my order anytime between 10AM and 9PM. One of the best sisig dishes I have tasted so far. I love the rich, creamy, and greasy feeling you get on the roof and around your mouth after every delectable bite.

2. Hainanese Chicken with Plain Rice by Spring Palace Seafood Restaurant
Price: P198

Singapore's unofficial national dish is in town! I never believed in love at first bite until Spring  Palace's Hainanese chicken topped in garlic sauce. The tender meat is locked with chicken juices that bring out the true essence of chicken. I was really blown away by how supple the meat was. What makes it even more appetizing is the small bundle of celery that came with it.  The high-water content and crunchy texture brought this dish to a whole new level. Now, just the thought of this meal warms the cockles of my heart.

3. Roasted Chicken by Prince Baker
Price: P226

I wasn't sure of this at first, but I'm glad I gave it a try. Prince Baker does not only offer sweet and savory breads, but a variety of palatable dishes as well. The marinade was perfectly absorbed by the skin down to its tender meat. I don't know what else they baste the succulent bird with, but the moisture in it is nothing short of divine. A chomp on this flavorful chicken gives a long-lingering aftertaste that leaves you asking for more.

4. Wild Mushroom and Truffle Solo by Nicolette
Price: P385

If you are looking for a healthy snack, I suggest you try Nicolette's Wild Mushroom and Truffle  Solo. It is every pasta lover's dream because of its extra creamy taste and rich texture. It is also topped with a decent amount of mushroom and cheese that complements with the truffle flavor.  The toasted bread on the side makes this a full meal. It is a perfect afternoon pick-me-upper.

5. Chicken Cordon Bleu by JD Bakery Cafe
Price: P140

Of course, I won't miss out on JD's infamous chicken cordon bleu. It is one of the staples during my college years as the store was just a few meters away from my university. I have tried cordon bleus from other food places, but believe me when I say that this particular dish from JD  is not an easy standard to meet. The perfectly moist and tender chicken in a crispy breading stuffed with a good amount of cheese and ham will make you want to place another order right off the bat.
