“We thank everyone since Iloilo City has experienced an excellent year this 2022, receiving awards and accolades from everywhere and everyone. Spectacular events are made more spectacular in the city,” Treñas stressed.

The transformation of Iloilo City into a livable, progressive, sustainable, and resilient metropolis has earned the city several citations from both the public and private sectors, including the Seal of Good Local Governance and the Galing Pook Award for Bike Culture. The city has also received the Bike Lanes Award, the distinction of being named the Most Improved and Most Government Efficient Highly Urbanized City, and the Gawad Kalasag Seal of Excellence for Disaster Risk Reduction and Management.

Treñas highlighted the strong public-private partnership in the city and expressed his hope for the continued support and active participation of all sectors in the coming year to sustain these best practices and developmental endeavors.

“We are looking forward to 2023 for more awards and recognitions - we need to continue to be united to achieve all these,” he said. The people of Iloilo City can certainly be proud of the progress and success their city has achieved, and with continued hard work and dedication, there is no doubt that even greater things are in store for the future.
