The India Business Roadshow, a significant event aimed at fostering collaboration and establishing connections between businesses, was successfully held last May 31, 2023, at The Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo. In partnership with The Embassy of India, through the office of H.E. Shambhu S. Kumaran, Ambassador of India to the Philippines, and Mr. Nishikant Singh, Counselor of Economic and Commerce, along with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry – Iloilo Chapter, this event marked a milestone in strengthening bilateral relations between India and the Philippines.
As part of the India Business Roadshow, numerous prominent Indian companies across diverse industries showcased their products and portfolios with the aim of establishing connections with businesses in Iloilo City, Philippines. Approximately 30 leading Indian firms participated in this event.
The primary objective of the event was to facilitate connections and encourage collaboration between businesses in various sectors, with a particular focus on agri-business, ITBPM (Information Technology-Business Process Management), ITeS (Information Technology-enabled Services), renewables, irrigation, engineering, and others. By bringing together key stakeholders and industry experts, the India Business Roadshow provided an opportunity to share best practices and explore new avenues for growth.
The event witnessed the presence of distinguished attendees from different business sectors, including representatives from the City Government, Provincial Government, National Government Agencies, media, and the business delegation from the India Business Forum (IBF). Their participation further emphasized the significance of this collaborative initiative in promoting trade and investment opportunities.
During the roadshow, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the India Business Forum Association of the Philippines, Inc. (IBF) and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Iloilo Chapter (PCCI-Iloilo). This MoU formalized the commitment of both organizations to enhance cooperation, exchange information, and explore joint initiatives to promote bilateral business activities. The signing of the MoU marked a significant step towards fostering stronger ties and creating a conducive environment for business growth and mutual benefit.
Throughout the roadshow, participants engaged in meaningful discussions, networking sessions, and interactive forums.
