Iloilo City is at the forefront of a transformative wave in its automotive landscape, thanks to the pioneering efforts of Grand Canyon Multi Holdings, Inc. The company recently unveiled a groundbreaking initiative on November 15, introducing the MG4 EV and Marvel R—the first Electric Vehicles (EVs) tailored for Ilonggo consumers. As the city embraces this green evolution, the crucial question arises: Where can one charge these electric vehicles?

1. Home Charging

EV owners will be glad to know that Grand Canyon and MG Motor Iloilo will be providing home chargers for every purchase of the MG4 and Marvel R electric vehicles. Two options are on the table: the 3.6KW Portable Charger and the 7KW Wall Charger. The former takes a leisurely 19 hours for a full recharge, while the latter significantly slashes the time down to 9 hours.

2. Public Charging

Beyond the confines of home, Iloilo City is gearing up for a broader charging infrastructure. The initial thrust will see public charging stations established at strategic locations, starting at Grand Canyon's headquarters in Taft North, Mandurriao. As the EV revolution gains momentum, additional stations will sprout up, with MotorcycleCity's Mabini and Molo branches set to receive charging infrastructure within the first 12 months. Over the following 24 months, MG Roxas and MotorcycleCity outlets in Balasan, Barotac Viejo, Kalibo, and Mambusao will join the network, catering to the needs of long-range travelers.

Whether you're recharging at home, utilizing public charging stations, or taking advantage of fast-charging capabilities, Grand Canyon and MG Iloilo are committed to ensuring that their electric vehicle owners can navigate the electric highway with confidence and convenience. The emergence of EVs in Iloilo marks not only a shift in how we travel but also a commitment to sustainability and a cleaner, greener future. It's time to #RechargeYourselfIloilo and drive towards a brighter, electric horizon.
