Festive Walk Iloilo weaves joy this holiday season with the launch of Pagtililingub

Festive Walk Iloilo is weaving joy this holiday season with the launch of Pagtitilingub Christmas celebration, marked by the lighting of its 20 ft. giant Christmas tree decorated with native materials and beautiful weaving by the Mat Weavers of Concepcion, Iloilo.

The launch event featured a series of proud local festivities, beginning with the colorful Tultugan Festival. This lively performance highlighted the joyful sounds of the Tultug, a bamboo instrument that serves as a tribute to the abundance of Filipino bamboo.

Also taking center stage were the performance by the Irong Irong Dance Company, who captivated the audience with rich rhythms of folk music and traditional dances, immersing everyone in the festive spirit of Iloilo.

"Our goal is not only to celebrate Christmas and honor the unique spirit of Iloilo at Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. This year's celebration seeks to create meaningful experiences that resonate deeply within our community, adding an extra layers of warmth and connection to the holiday season," said Karmela Jesena, Festive Walk Iloilo General Manager.

Throughout the Christmas season, Festive Walk Iloilo remains committed to supporting the local industry, showcasing the craftsmanship and talents of Ilonggos through various events. Among the highlights is Festive Fabrics, a special exhibit featuring creations of internationally acclaimed designers Jackie Penalosa and Jeff Ticao, and an interactive weaving display from Balai Ilonggo.

In addition, Iloilo's Treasures Fair invites guests to discover and shop for a variety of local food and artisan products, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the region.

Festive Walk Iloilo is also dedicated to empowering local weaving communities by providing them with a platform to showcase and sell their creations, helping to sustain their livelihoods. One such initiative is the Weaving Kindness project, where guests can shop for delightful bakery products and handcrafted items from the Weavers Association, and receive a free product with a minimum purchase.

For those looking for eco-friendly gifts, the Handmade Wonders exhibit features sustainable, handcrafted products from the Mat Weavers of Concepcion. Shoppers who reach a specific purchase requirement will receive a free, customized bag as a token of appreciation.

With these initiatives, Festive Walk Iloilo is not just celebrating the holidays - it's empowering local artisans and creating a space for the community to come together, support one another, and cherish the spirit of giving.
