MORE Electric and Power Corporation has fully restored power in Iloilo City affected by Typhoon Tino, after resolving all 397 tickets received through the 24/7 helpline by November 7.
In a statement from Engineer Joe-Mil Zaporteza, Chief Operating Officer of MORE Power, because of the preparation done days before, no problems were encountered from the 6 substations and 26 feeder lines. However, the distribution lines leading to the houses were affected by trees and posts that fell down.
“We thank our frontline linemen, engineers, and customer service for delivering timely and efficient efforts in restoring power and communicating to our customers. Working with our people enabled us not only to withstand the effects of the typhoon but also to handle the normalization of our services expeditiously. We thank our customers for their understanding and cooperation in making this endeavor manageable," says Zaporteza.
Each lineman and supervising engineer took things carefully to ensure they too are safe.

“Let's be more considerate and understanding with our linemen, as they are already risking their lives just to provide our needed electricity. But with the given situation, it's beyond their control naman kaya let's be patient and pray for their safety,” says Joanna Grace Beringuel.
Some consumers expressed their worry about the working linemen because even if the typhoon has not yet left Panay Island, they have immediately gone out to fix what’s broken and ensure that the restoration efforts begin immediately.

In case MORE Power has not prepositioned its disaster preparedness plan, there is a huge possibility that the damage will be extensive. The state weather bureau placed Iloilo City in storm signal no. 4 with its eye directly passing it with sustained winds reaching 150km/h.
