Globe myBusiness Rolls Out Second Phase Of HEROES For HEROES Initiative In Connecting SMEs To Medical Frontliners

As cases of COVID-19 continue to surge in the Philippines, thousands of medical and business front liners continue to place their safety and lives at risk. With the enhanced community quarantine now extended in Metro Manila and other high risk areas, most businesses are struggling on how to keep businesses afloat amidst limited resources and movement.

Globe myBusiness takes its part as key partner of mSMEs through a program that connects its food industry clients, whose heroes are their own frontliners who prepare meals for the heroes of the healthcare industry - the hospital frontliners.

The initiative dubbed  “HEROES for HEROES”  aims to extend aid to healthcare frontliners around the country who have been leading the fight against COVID-19, through the distribution of free meal packages produced by partner food SMEs to select partner hospitals. It also seeks to ensure continuity of operations and gains for local food businesses who have been hit the hardest by the onslaught of the pandemic.

“As the fight against the coronavirus continues, Globe stands in support alongside every health worker and front liner who continue to fulfill their everyday duties despite the risks in order to serve the public,” said Ernest Cu, Globe President and CEO.

The successful partnership between industries has helped twenty-five (25) hospitals and has brought business back to eleven (11) restaurants and logistic businesses throughout the last week of March until the first weeks of April.

Now on  its second run for HEROES for HEROES, Globe myBusiness has supported over ten additional hospitals. Twenty food establishments including Susie’s Cuisine, 121 Grille and Restaurant, Veggiebite, and Oldtown Lechon were tapped to prepare meals for healthcare workers at De La Salle Dasmariñas City Medical Center in CaviteLas Piñas Doctors Hospital, Loving Mother General Hospital in Pampanga, and Bacolod Adventist Medical Center, among others. The meals were sponsored by Globe myBusiness and were delivered to each hospital daily for five days.

Globe myBusiness also distributed meal packs provided by Let’s Eat Pare Vendors Association, Professional Academy for Culinary Education (PACE) Manila, and Mrs. Cheffy Catering to eight designated testing and quarantine areas last April 23 to 25. These areas included Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, Delpan Quarantine Facility, Quezon Institute and HOPE Community Caring Facility in Quezon City. In addition to this, grocery and supermarket frontliners at Kemp Mart, Merrymart Grocery Centers, Budget Mart, Unitop Supermarket were also given meal packs during the third week of April.

Apart from providing meals, Globe myBusiness tapped its partner HTP Clothing to supply hospitals with PPEs, while also donating other essentials like surgical face masks, surgical gloves, and disinfectant alcohols.
